About Elm Park NurseryMontessoriOur EthosProspectusOfstedTimetable

The nursery day is carefully balanced so that children have time to be active, time to play and be noisy, time to be quiet, time to listen, time to concentrate, and time to rest.  When working with our lower school babies and toddlers, independence, confidence and mobility are encouraged through a variety of activities using a sensory approach. Activities such as: treasure baskets,
heuristic play, cooking, singing songs and music times, outdoor play and co-ordination activities are included in the weekly timetable.

Continuity of Care

Continuity of Care

The nursery uses the key person system.  This means that each member of staff has responsibility for an identified group of children.  This helps to provide continuity of care and secure attachments which we consider to be of the utmost importance for all our children. Every effort is made for very young children, in particular, to spend the majority of the nursery day in the care of the same adults.

Meals & Extra Curricular

Meals & Extra Curricular

For lunch and snacks, a wide variety of freshly prepared food is served to meet all dietary needs. We endeavour to ensure that lunches appeal to children while being balanced and nutritious.

A range of extra activities are also available as part of the curriculum, or as a chargeable optional extra.

These can include swimming, music and movement, dance, oral French, or drama. Visits may also be arranged e.g. theatres, the zoo, local library and parks.
