Do children stay with you until they start their reception class?

Posted in Parents Blog

Most of our children stay for the duration – that means from the time they join us at a tender young age, until they are ready to start their reception class. Very few drop out unless their personal circumstances change, or they leave the area.

A natural progression from our baby suite, through to our upper school

Children join us at different ages.  Some are brought along by their parents aged just a few months old and join our baby suite (three months to two years).  Others come as toddlers and join our lower school provision (two - three years), or our upper school (three - four years, pre-reception).Whatever stage/age children join us, their learning experience is tailored to them, given that we believe every child should be encouraged as an individual, and be allowed to develop at their own pace.

A family atmosphere, where children feel comfortable

Given the fact that most of our children stay and move through our different groups, everyone knows each other. That means that there is a relaxed atmosphere, conducive to productive learning, and children are responsive, happy and eager to do well.

A ‘home from home’ environment where children flourish and prepare themselves for the next phase of their education

Elm Park is known for its ‘home from home’ approach to early years childcare.
We understand that parents sometimes find it difficult to leave their children in the care of someone else.  That’s why we provide a very relaxed and informal environment for children – it might not be their actual home, but we will make sure it feels close to it!

The Montessori philosophy, intertwined with the Early Years Foundation Stage

Our Montessori programme is designed to fully prepare children for their next stage of schooling and is intertwined with the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) that aims to lead children to achieve a number of Early Learning Goals.
